Kean out, and Alan Shearer will take over, it says here, a £100m summer for Chelsea, United's new kid and...
SHEARER TO TAKE OVER AT ROVERS?
The good news for Blackburn fans is that Steve Kean's position is starting to look precarious.
You may know by now that the Lancashire Telegraph is planning a front page calling for his sacking, and it's easy to miss what a massive deal that is for a local paper who traditionally have very close ties to the club.
A few of the Sundays suggested that Venky's are planning to get rid this week, and now some of the daily papers are running with the theme.
And The Daily Mail already has an idea about who might succeed him - yes, it's Johnny Charisma and Charlie Tactical Insight himself, Alan Shearer.
The paper reports: 'Venky's bosses are studying reports of Saturday's shambolic home defeat by West Bromwich before deciding whether to axe Kean now or hand him one final opportunity, in Tuesday's basement battle with Bolton.
'Either way, former Blackburn striker Shearer is ready to step in after being nominated by key advisers as the prime candidate to restore harmony at a club riven by public opposition to Kean and plummeting player morale.'
CHELSEA CHASE A FEW
The Times is predicting a very big summer for Chelsea.
The paper reports: 'André Villas-Boas, the Chelsea manager, has identified Edinson Cavani, the Napoli striker, Borussia Dortmund's hugely promising midfield player, Mario Götze, and his former charge at Porto, João Moutinho, as his three priority transfer targets for this summer.'
Blimey. We know these job lot deals hardly ever come true, but imagine the team they would have with that little lot in there.
We'll say again - blimey.
The only problem is the pesky other clubs who own those players might not want to sell them. Napoli would apparently be willing to sell Cavani if they get a £34million offer, while Moutinho would cost around £35million and Borussia Dortmund will accept not a penny less than £40million.
And this at a time when Chelsea are theoretically tightening their belts.
UNITED SECURE GAITAN DEAL
While we wouldn't dream of accusing any journalist of being a great big copy cat, The Independent do report this morning the exact same story that The Sunday Telegraph did at the weekend.
Specifically, that Manchester United have a deal for Benfica playmaker Nicolas Gaitan all wrapped up for next summer.
The paper gives us the same fee, but spins it more on the angle that agent Jorge Mendes has 'cemented his position as a major driver of Manchester United's transfer business'.
Apparently no contract has been signed, but the framework of a deal which could see United pay up to £33.5million if Gaitan is particularly successful.
The paper reports: 'Though Gaitan's services would be of immediate value to Ferguson, Benfica fans would respond fiercely to any sale in January. Many of them still blame the club's board for ceding the title back to Porto last season, having sold Angel di Maria to Real Madrid and David Luiz to Chelsea within six months of taking their first championship in five years. Benfica and arch-rivals Porto are again neck and neck at the top.'
ARSENAL & CHELSEA 'ALERTED' BY PASTORE
Here's what Javier Pastore said to a French radio station over the weekend:
"I train with great conviction in order to realise my dream of playing with a big team. If I want a team bigger than PSG to contact me, then it depends on me."
And, predictably enough, The Daily Mail messes their pants, reporting that 'Arsenal and Chelsea have been put on alert' by Pastore.
Make of it what you will.
GALLIANI'S LATEST ON TEVEZ
It seems AC Milan big cheese Adriano Galliani is asked about Carlos Tevez every...single...day.
And here's his latest answer: "Let's hope sooner or later City change their minds.
"Negotiations are going to take a long time but we are placing a lot of emphasis on the fact he wants to play with us.
"It's true other sides are interested in him but there are not actually that many," he said.
"Milan are only looking for a striker on the transfer market after Antonio Cassano's health problem.
"At the moment Manchester City have rejected our offer for Tevez. If it is accepted, then good, otherwise he won't come to us.
"We will meet with City again and try to convince them from here to January 31. If we do not succeed, then either another striker will arrive or nobody at all."
