AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed he is planning to meet with Manchester City officials on Thursday to thrash out a deal for Carlos Tevez.
The Serie A club has made no secret of their interest in the Argentinean striker, and reports suggest his representatives have already been in discussion with City about a possible short-term loan.
But the fineprint of any agreement is proving to be a sticking point with the Premier League outfit eager to cut ties with the striker for good, while Milan have made it clear they are only interested in a loan.
City hope the interest of Paris St Germain will force a bidding war for the striker’s services but Galliani is adamant Tevez is only interested in a move to Italy.
"We're not going to take him outright, we're offering a free loan with the right to buy in June,” Galliani told Radio 1 Rai.
"The player wants to come to us and not PSG and we hope City accept the offer."
Galliani also warned City that they are already looking at alternative options, adding that Catania forward Maxi Lopez was a "standby" option if Milan are unable to agree terms for Tevez.
Catania are expecting Lopez to leave during the January transfer window, with general manager Pietro Lo Monaco today saying the club had received several offers for the Argentinian forward.
